I am the Export and Quality Manager.

What/Who is a major influence for you in the family business?
The legacy of creativity and excellence from our founders Giovanna and Gervasio still drive us today. The creativity leads to innovation and the excellence is portrayed through our quality and customer service. We continue to strive to be the leaders in our market segment and to bring solutions to our customers. Without this edge we would only be selling commodities and needing to win business based on price.

What keeps you up at night?
The changing face of the meat industry due to mergers and acquisitions and how this changes our business relationships. Our local market is shrinking as a result of M&As. Also customers expecting prices to decrease, not increase.

What’s the key benefit of your FBA membership?
The people you meet and the knowledge you gain. Being with like-minded genuine people who care about their business and its people (family and employees), people who are prepared to share their stories so that we can learn from each other.

The other aspect is the knowledge of Advisers. Being able to find a professional who understands what it really means to be involved in a family business and who can give us tools and work with us to ensure we follow best practice. This best practice is there to strengthen both our family relationships and our businesses.
