A note from the Western Australian State Manager

The FBA WA Chapter has had a number of exciting events over the past month. The Performance Management session hosted by the Illuminate Group where both Navinda Singh from Illuminate and Danielle McNamee from ProcessWorx addressed an enthusiastic group and ran through some of the mechanisms that can be adopted regarding paying and performance managing staff. A group of our Next Generation members were guests of the Royal Flying Doctor Service on Thursday 13th August where CEO Grahame Marshall addressed the group and imparted some of his knowledge in our yearly “Meet the CEO” event. The group were also shown around the RFDS operations at Jandakot and I am sure as surprised as I was when I toured the site a few years ago to see the size and breadth of their operations. Certainly a great service and one we should all consider supporting.

My focus recently has been on building the profile of FBA and it’s members, you may have seen the beginning of a series of articles we are running with the West Australian. The first being Baileys Fertiliser and the second on Go West Tours, two impressive and innovative family businesses. This series will continue with another 10 business to be showcased over the coming months, highlighting the diversity of family businesses and the contribution made to the Australian economy.
