What can I say but Jodie isn’t a fan of Debbie!!! It was a crazy end to March and the 3rd Quarter of 2017 with Cyclone Debbie effecting North Queensland right through to our friends across the border. If there is one thing I know is during times of need, Queenslanders stick together – and Families in Business are no different. As your representative with FBA please send a shout out of how you stood up and the possibility of help we can lend.

The final quarter of 2017 will be actioned packed with two educational courses, Financial Essentials, Family Business Essentials, an Insider Event with Atho Group and WW Souvenirs and rounding out with the start studded State Conference on June 9.

Key dates:
• 3 May – Advisor Connect Breakfast with Peter Bishop

• 16 May – Family Business Essentials, click here to register
• 19 May – Insider Event with Atho Group and WW Souvenirs, click here to register
• 9 June – QLD State Conference, Brisbane, click here to register
• 14 July – Chairman’s lunch, Brisbane

• 10 November – QLD Hall of Fame Dinner, Brisbane

If you are yet to hear the QLD State Conference will be headlined by the great State of Origin and Kangaroo great Shane Webcke. Coming from the land out and entering the tough sport of Rugby League who better to share his experience of rolling up the sleeves then Webcke. Post Webcke’s inspirational luncheon we have four workshop sessions which will spark your interest and business thought. This year’s event is to be very interactive with family business examples and even the ability send through questions relating to the topic in advance. For more information click here.

A summary of the year to date can be downloaded here, I urge you to mark your calendars so you do not miss out.

Help me get to know you and your business, if you have had any exciting news or received awards or good publicity share the love by sending it through, email fbaqld@fambiz.org.au. If you know of any families in business don’t forget to tell them about FBA, or better yet bring them along to the next event.

Hint for the month:
Don’t mix personal and business finances

Quote of the Month:
“It’s the lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believe in myself.” – Muhammad Ali

Hope this helps till next time
