It’s full steam ahead at FBA this month, with our National Conference taking front row seat as it does every August. All the FBA staff are involved in the pre-conference planning, and I took on some of the responsibilities aligned with our awards night and our exhibition area. Without giving too much away, the best of the best have been awarded FBA accolades this year – with a record number of nominations received, it was not an easy decision for our judges. The exhibition area will also be full this year, with 14 exhibits including an FBA booth with a dedicated speaker’s corner. Don’t forget to visit us!

In QLD FBA news, I have just come back from hosting our second Chairman’s Lunch of the year. Our guest speaker Richard Malouf did not disappoint, and proved to be a most engaging speaker. From one pharmacy in 1962, Richard built his family business to the 19 pharmacies he runs today, with plans for further expansion. The family work actively within the company, with the next generation of family joining the business. Our last Chairman’s Lunch of the year will take place at the Summit restaurant at Mt Coot-Tha, on November 11. This will be an opportunity to recognise the QLD Hall of Fame inductee for 2016, which will be announced on the day.

Next month, we are visiting the Burleigh Brewing Company on 22 September to see how Peta and Brennan Fielding took an idea and a staff of 2 to over 30 staff and a string of national and international awards for both their beers and their business.

As with all FBA events, you can book via our website.

Until next month!
