This year we have been busy with several events being held in February. The first Family Business Insider event held at Haigh’s Chocolates was a huge success with a sell-out crowd. It was wonderful to see so many new faces as well as many current members. Alister, Simon and Millie Haigh shared their story about how the 4th generation business has evolved and how they successfully work together.

We launched our Facebook page in February and will be using this to promote both great SA Family businesses, stories of interest and coming events. Please like our page to help promote FBA South Australia. This month, we will be holding a Forum information Session at the Republic Hotel, if you would like more information click here or contact Yvonne.

FBA / KPMG Survey for 2017

This month I attended the precursor for the FBA/KPMG/Adelaide Uni survey dinner along with Mary Mercuri and her son, James, Ken and Brad Hall and Olivia Burke. We were the guests of Bill Noye and Kerri Reynolds from KPMG. Bill did a presentation on the 2015 survey outcomes and asked questions of what people may be looking for from the latest survey.

KPMG are consulting with family businesses until around 18 March, so any further feedback that you or the committee may have is welcome and appreciated before then.
Any questions please let me know. If you are interested in giving KPMG feedback for the new survey they will need it around the 18th March. Please contact Kerri with any questions you may have regarding the survey.

The South Australian Committee will be meeting with FBA CEO Greg Griffith in April to provide feedback and workshop the new National FBA strategy. Your local committee will work through the strategies provided nationally to ensure a local flavour and to provide specific actions to address membership, Forum Groups, Sponsorship and Events. Currently the committee is working on the State conference in May and the focus of the conference will be on human resources. We have organised some great speakers and topics that you will find interesting and topical.

On a final and sadder note, we farewell Diana Thoeny this month after 5 years’ service to the family business sector and FBA. Diana leaves us on March 17th. We wish her the very best for her next career move.

Look forward to catching up with many of you at the next event.
