As another year draws to a close I look back and am amazed at the experiences and journey I have been on as the new Chairman. I am fortunate to have a very supportive and talented committee and look forward to continuing working with them in the New Year.

 This morning I had the pleasure of attending a Forum recruitment breakfast and again realise how privileged I am to hear the great work that our Forum facilitators do in providing a space where family business members can learn share and grow both as an individual and their business. 

I attended the Hall of Fame dinner in late November, and as always you hear amazing and inspiring stories of great family business. This is such a great night to celebrate the achievements of Family Business and showcase some extraordinary businesses. Congratulations to Ennio International and L.V. Dohnt & Co. ,the latest recipients of the Hall of Fame Awards, both Family Businesses were worthy inductees with incredible stories on their succession, growth and change to meet the demands of today’s business. 

Yvonne and I have been working closely with the Small Business Commission recently, Lowen Partridge from Peartree Branding presented a mini workshop at their premise, working in a Family Business. This was very successful and we will be holding another workshop in Victor Harbor in the New Year. 

On behalf of the committee I would like to thank you for your support and look forward to catching up with you  next year at some of the events we have planned.  I wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year.
