We are well and truly into the swing of 2018 with many businesses already starting the planning for 2019 I am sure. Before we get ahead of ourselves and I confirm the details of our celebrate 18 event in November, I would like to bring us back to that of the immediate future and the amazing events we have coming up; including an outstanding State Premier Event – Family Business Insights on Friday 1 June.

Queensland is not running a “State Conference”, we have listened to your feedback, and hope we have created something that excites you and challenges you. A small working committee of Jane O’Reilly, Mick Newton, Justin Taylor, Andrew Barter and Michael Arnold have been working very hard this year to ensure this program is different to any other. Family Business Insights: The real stories behind business success is our Premier Event. An event where you can hear stories from three great speakers in a panel setting set over a social networking long lunch.

Don’t forget to keep an eye on the event calendar for workshops and other great FBA Activities including the Emerging Leaders Program.

Last month FBA launched the We are Family Owned campaign and website, if you are yet to “sign up” to use the emblem let us know and we will ensure all relevant information is provided and send you the artwork.

I look forward to seeing you at an event in the very near future, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information.

Hint for the month:

Take care of your stars.
This goes for every company, big and small. The cost of losing a star employee is enormous, yet business leaders rarely take the time to ensure their top performers are properly motivated, challenged, and compensated.

Quote of the Month:
“A business has to be involving, it has to be fun, and it has to exercise your creative instincts.” – Richard Branson
