The first of a new era was launched on Friday 1 June, with the FBA QLD Insights Luncheon.  An opportunity for the family business community to come together to network and understand the importance of building relationships.

Over 150 members and their connections attended the event at the Queensland Cricketers’ Club for what has been said to be one of the best FBA event in years.  Read my take on the event here.

We now move onwards to the next chapter of FBA QLD Events with some important education from QLD Platinum Sponsor, Holding Redlich, on 20 July and an intimate event with the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsmand Kate Carnell 2nd August.

Remember to keep an eye on the event calendar for workshops and other great FBA Activities including the Emerging Leaders Program.

Don’t forget about the Family Owned Australian Business Emblem – if you are yet to “sign up” to use the emblem, please let us know and we will ensure all relevant information is provided and send you the artwork.

I look forward to seeing you at an event in the very near future, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information.

Hint for the month:

The importance of relationships with the notion that we have to find a balance of being givers and takers, we can’t just give or take, we need both. Far too many people don’t ask for help when they need it and that can be fatal in business. The greatest compliment in business is a referral. We should be thoughtful, have the right motives and be connecting people for the right reasons.

Quote of the Month:

Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!” Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company
