February was a great month for getting to know the members of FBA, with three events attracting both new and long standing members. We visited the historical premises of Lionel Samson and Son to hear from Andrew Larsen about his venture into the world of family offices.

Our first ‘Meet the family behind the business’ was a great success with Fleur and Brad Cassidy opening the doors of Leaf Bean Machine, their hospitality not only included a barista demonstration and informative tour of their factory, but a tasting of their coffee in delicious Espresso Martini’s.  We also enjoyed sweet treats from Sandie and Matthew Beggs of Cake Tinz and Things, so the event was a great demonstration of family businesses working together for the benefit of others- namely the attendees.

Our adviser community has to be commended for their take up of our first Adviser Connect breakfast meeting, with a record number of attendees, we took over the venue and the networking that went on was fantastic to see.  Great knowledge is shared which provides invaluable learning at these unique business meetings.

We have many more opportunities for our members and visitors to enjoy the family business community.

See you at an event soon.
