February was a busy month for FBA Vic. For the first time FBA ran our Family Business Essentials Course free of charge for new members and prospects of FBA, if you missed out and are interested in taking part, never fear we are running one again in April – watch our website for confirmed dates.
We also ran our first Family Business Insider at Scalzo Food Industries, a great opportunity to see another family business in operation and to learn what they do and how they have grown. These Insider events will be run every 3 months, with the next one being at Sutton Tools in April, the first event was so popular and such a success that this event is already full, but I am already working to put together another event in May/June.
As you are probably aware we voted in a new chairman of FBA Vic in February, Sara Pantaleo, CEO of La Porchetta Restaurants. I am excited to work with Sara as the year progresses and enjoy the enthusiasm that she brings to the committee. A big thank you to Jeremy Manford, our previous state chair that resigned his position due to exciting changes in his business.
Looking forward I am pleased to ask you to save the date for our Vic State Conference, scheduled for Thursday May 18, the theme is ‘Get Focussed for Future Success’, I am just putting the finishing touches to the program of speakers, and it be sent out shortly!
If you have any ideas of speakers that you really want to see or maybe your business is a perfect case study, its not too late to give me a call!
2017/18 is all about growth and engagement for the members of FBA, if you have any questions or are just looking to get more involved, please let me know.
Likewise if you have any contacts in family business that you think are crazy not to join, invite them to an event – let them experience FBA.
I hope to see you at an event in the future!

VIC/ TAS State Manager
