My first month in the role of SA State Manager with FBA has been amazing.  I have been warmly welcomed by the dedicated SA committee and overwhelmed by the passion and commitment demonstrated by the family businesses and advisors I have spoken with in my first few weeks.  Every day I hear more stories about family businesses doing great things in South Australia.  I look forward to welcoming more of these businesses to FBA over the coming months. On the topic of greatness; congratulations to the following FBA members:

Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards – Awarded top marks in this year’s Advertiser Top 100 Wines for their 2010 DJ Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

Haigh’s Chocolates – The iconic business celebrated 100 years in business in May.

Gilbert’s Transport Services – Peter Gilbert has now racked up 50 years in the transport business and continues to run a successful enterprise with his wife Lorraine.

It’s fantastic to see FBA members amongst the contenders for this year’s SA Food Industry Consumer Award (Beerenberg, Feast Fine Foods, Nippy’s, Robern Menz). Vote for your favourite before 25th September, visit the website

This will be my first experience of the FBA National Conference.
